SHINEDOWN's Eighth Album Will 'Hopefully' Be Out By March 2026

Rock juggernauts Shinedown are making major moves in 2025. During a backstage interview at Download Festival UK, frontman Brent Smith revealed that the band’s eighth studio album is 85% complete and on track for a March 2026 release. This exciting update comes as the band continues their explosive Dance, Kid, Dance” Tour, following the success of two chart-topping singles and historic accolades.

“We should be announcing the record in November,” Smith shared. “And hopefully by March of next year, the record will be out.”

🎵 A Bold New Era: “Three Six Five” and “Dance, Kid, Dance”

Shinedown kicked off 2025 with the release of “Three Six Five” and “Dance, Kid, Dance” on January 24 via Atlantic Records. The two tracks showcase opposite ends of the band’s musical spectrum — one gritty and anthemic, the other energetic and rhythmic — giving fans a taste of the variety the upcoming album will offer.

“They’re completely two sides of the band,” said Smith. “We want to grow the audience. That’s why these songs sound so different.”

Both singles have drawn strong responses from fans and radio alike. “Dance, Kid, Dance” climbed to No. 1 on Mediabase’s Active Rock chart and Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart, earning Shinedown their 22nd No. 1 hit.

📀 Album #8 Will Be a Traditional Record — No Concept, All Cohesion

Unlike 2022’s Planet Zero and 2018’s Attention Attention, which followed narrative concepts, the new record will be a traditional collection of stand-alone tracks.

“They’re not attached to each other conceptually,” Smith explained. “But they all belong together. It’s freeing.”

The band is currently finishing the remaining few tracks, with production led by bassist Eric Bass at Big Animal Studio in Charleston, South Carolina.

“You can’t rush the art because it’s forever,” Smith added. “We still believe the album is the most important element of all of this.”

🏆 Shinedown’s Record-Breaking Year

2025 has been one for the books. Shinedown earned two iHeartRadio Music Awards for:

  • Rock Artist of the Year
  • Rock Song of the Year for “A Symptom of Being Human”

The song, a standout from Planet Zero, amassed 125 million+ global streams and made history by charting across five major radio formats — including Active Rock, Alternative, Hot AC, and even Top 40.

Shinedown also became:

  • The only band with 20 No. 1s on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart
  • Tied with Foo Fighters for most Top 10s in the chart’s history (32 songs each)
  • Holder of the most No. 1s, Top 5s, and Top 10s on Mediabase Active Rock

🎤 “Dance, Kid, Dance” Tour: Shinedown’s Biggest Yet

The ongoing 36-date North American tour is the band’s largest-ever, with Shinedown headlining iconic venues for the first time, including:

  • Madison Square Garden (NYC) – July 20
  • TD Garden (Boston) – July 19
  • Kia Forum (Los Angeles) – August 3

Support acts include Beartooth, Bush (on select dates), and Morgan Wade. The tour has drawn acclaim for its energy, production, and crowd connection.

The official “Dance, Kid, Dance” music video — directed by Lewis Cater and choreographed by Julissa Bond — continues to gain traction online, further cementing the track’s cultural impact.

🔮 What’s Next for Shinedown?

Looking ahead, Shinedown will:

  • Release two more singles in late July 2025
  • Announce the album in November 2025
  • Drop their eighth studio album by March 2026

“We’re proud of the last 20 years,” said Smith. “But we’re focused on the next 20 — and beyond.”

With unmatched chart dominance, a growing global fanbase, and an unshakable work ethic, Shinedown remains a defining force in modern rock.
