The remainder of the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival 2025 has been officially canceled following a severe weather threat and an evacuation notice issued earlier Friday.

In a heartbreaking update shared via social media around 7:30 p.m. local time, organizers announced that deteriorating weather conditions have made it unsafe to continue the event. The decision comes after thunderstorms and heavy rainfall began sweeping through Manchester, Tennessee, the site of the four-day festival.

“We are beyond gutted,” the statement read. “But we must make the safest decision and cancel the remainder of Bonnaroo.”

⚠️ National Weather Service Prompts Swift Decision

Earlier in the day, the National Weather Service issued an updated forecast warning of significant, steady rainfall expected to impact both on-site camping conditions and safe exit routes from the festival grounds.

According to organizers, the rain had already begun creating serious issues in multiple areas of the Outeroo, the massive camping space adjacent to the venue.

“The rain has settled in areas and made certain parts of Outeroo difficult to manage,” the organizers added.

🏕️ Campers Urged to Stay Put if Safe

Festival staff are prioritizing evacuating those in the most vulnerable camping situations, especially attendees with accessibility needs or severely waterlogged campsites.

To help with this effort, organizers have asked anyone in stable conditions—such as RVs, pre-pitched accommodations, or dry campsites—to remain on site overnight.

“The number one thing we need from the Bonnaroo community is patience,” the message emphasized. “We’d like to prioritize getting those folks… off The Farm as soon as possible.”

🎟️ Refund Information Provided

Although Bonnaroo kicked off smoothly on Thursday with standout performances from Luke Combs, Dom Dolla, Insane Clown Posse, and Rebecca Black, the rest of the weekend—scheduled to include Tyler, The Creator, Olivia Rodrigo, Hozier, and more—will no longer take place.

Organizers have promised to “make things right” and included refund instructions in their full post. Ticketholders will receive:

  • Full refunds for Friday through Sunday tickets and parking passes
  • Partial refunds for full-weekend passes, reflecting the one completed day on Thursday

💔 Fans and Artists Respond with Support

Despite the disappointment, many fans and artists expressed understanding and gratitude on social media. Several praised the festival’s transparency and concern for safety.

One fan wrote:

“This hurts, but thank you for putting our safety first. Bonnaroo spirit forever.”

🌧️ Weekend Lineup Lost to the Weather

The weather-related cancellation affects a star-studded weekend lineup that included:

Friday: Tyler, The Creator, John Summit, Glass Animals
Saturday: Olivia Rodrigo, Avril Lavigne, Justice
Sunday: Hozier, Vampire Weekend, Queens of the Stone Age

📝 Closing Words from Organizers

In their final message, organizers expressed deep sorrow over the decision, stating:

“We have put our hearts and souls into making this weekend the most special one of the year… We cannot express how crushed we are. Thank you in advance for your patience, your positivity, and your unfailing Bonnaroovian spirit.”

While fans mourn the loss of one of the summer’s most anticipated festivals, safety clearly took priority in the face of unpredictable and extreme weather.
